Cancer center opened in 1978 for the first time in the southern part of Han River, our specialists with a lot of experiences cooperate together. And major devices we use are X-knife that can concentrate a lot of radiation on a tumor at once so that it can remove the tumor completely without side effects to other organs, increasing survival rate. And another one is the linear accelerator which can perform selective treatment adjusting itself to the various depths of tumors. And there are therapy planning devices for optimal use of radiation and Fluido Therapy. And there is the device that can adjust the amount of radiation according to the size and shape of a tumor and can automatically adjust the inspection area, making three dimensional radiation therapies, and it can perform more stable therapy than the linear accelerator or iridium at other hospitals because it has a longer half-life. It also has cobalt teletherapy apparatus which enables intracavitary therapy within an organ and abdominal cavity. Recently we have introduced IGRT(image guided radiation therapy), which is custom-made radiotherapy equipment for the first time in the regions of the Busan and Gyeoungnam.
